Who is DJ?

DJ is a producer, musician, songwriter and DJ from Georgia US. Artists come to him with an idea and he’ll work with them until they have a track both are happy with.

He loves song writing but nothing can beat DJing at live gigs. Getting the crowd hyped and playing his music and debuting new artists and tracks.
I had a chat with DJ about his music. How he works and how he’s coped with the pandemic.

I love that DJ adds a mixture of music genres in his gigs. R&B, heavy metal, hip-hop, pop. I’ve never heard of this before and he explains it to me in the Behind The Pen episode.

The Desire To Inspire

I was honoured to chat with the founder and director of this foundation, Dawn Witte.
She has such positivity in everything she says and wears her heart on her sleeve. She sees the good in everything and can always turn the negative into a positive just by her smile and speech. You can feel her love and compassion radiate from her. She has such a light inside her, that you can’t help feeling joy when talking with her. She’s all about love and wants to help and give out this positivity to as many people as she can. After my chat with her, I now think of her as an Earth Mother. Watch the video to understand why.

I had the absolute privilege of chatting with the owner and founder of the Zeitgeist Film Festival. She also is a Film Studies Professor at Peninsula College and a Film Professor at the University of New Mexico.

This lady has so much passion and we found out we have a lot in common when it comes to our opinions.

The Zeitgeist Film Festival is a non-profit 501(c)(3) that is here to make waves in the festival world! With ties all over the US and abroad, this festival stands to last the test of time or frankly even the Apocalypse! The Zeitgeist film festival will be making its debut and putting roots down in Orange County. We have brought some of the youngest, brightest, and most experienced minds together to build a festival that both cinema experts and aspiring videographers would be proud of. This festival promises to be a hit with old and young alike showing modern-day classics, Shorts, and Independent Features.

This year’s curation is a culmination of the last 5 years of my PhD research that I wanted to share with larger audiences and not just the few other scholars reading my work. In a term I coined: The “Auspicious Apocalypse” I look at the collective subconscious desire for the “end” in hopes to resurrect with something better, something new. Sometimes you have to burn it all to the ground to start over. Can we do this and maintain some semblance of humanity? Will it remind us the importance of community in doing so? Perhaps the fear of the Apocalypse is worse than the Apocalypse itself. Is it wrong to choose not to crawl into a fetal position paranoid for whatever is coming and instead face the music and feel more alive now than we ever have? – Alexandra Nakelski

I chat with Linwood Jackson, a poet and author of an upcoming YA fantasy novel. But Linwood is more than just a writer. He’s a speaker of philosophy a teacher of love but not the literal kind of love.
His thoughts and beliefs can be confusing to some but he has a clear vision and that comes out in his poetry and across in the chat we have.

BIO:

Linwood Jackson Jr. is an author writing on mental and spiritual health, and on its life-altering benefit. He is someone who believes in the power of the Bible’s words when sincerely exercised and studied. Through his books, speeches, and discourses, he encourages to think and feel for self, that self-love may bloom into self-possession through the knowledge acquired from experience. This, he says, betters the personal and devotional life not only for the person but also for all around them.

Time For A Musical Break

I had the opportunity to chat with young and upcoming rap and hip hop artist 7o BENZO (pronounced seven o benzo)

His latest album Hood Quote which was released in February this year has a mixture of styles from freestyling to collaborations with other rappers. However, what makes 7oBenzo and this album more amazing is that he produced, mixed and made this album by himself whilst in lockdown. Using his small make shift studio in his living room and beat pad for his instrumental sounds, this whole album was created in lockdown and produced by just one person.

Some of the songs are raw with emotion and energy, others are a little bit more laid back, however, all the tracks use explicit language and many of the lyrics refer to violence. So that’s the only warning I’m going to give.
I found 7oBenzo to be polite, and just talking to him displayed how much passion he has for rap and making music and being able to pull off making an album in his living room, just goes to show how talented he is.

Dear readers, tonight with us is a marketing exec turned heir to a magical kingdom. She’s here to tell us about power and destiny.

Tell us a little about where you grew up. What was it like there?

Well, I’m from the UK, at least I thought I was. Turned out I was adopted and was born in Tsinia a magical land on Enumac. My adopted parents were amazing and gave me love and everything I needed. Thanks to them, I went to college and studied hard and then got a position in a prestigious Marketing firm and worked my way up before becoming an executive.

I was happy in my own way. I lived by myself in a converted loft in the centre of town and was single and I thought my life path was set. But little did I know that everything I thought was real was just an illusion and everything I knew as truth, was, in fact, a lie,

What do you do now?

Now I’m Queen of Tsinia, my real home. Guardians to the Changlins (the sacred stones.) When I found out who I was, it took a lot to finally accept my rightful destiny. I was very stubborn, well I still am. But I refused to take the crown and demanded they send me back home. Especially when I found out what they had planned for me. Can you imagine, waking up in a strange land, being told you are the heir and you have magical powers and that you’re to marry an evil warlord’s son, which it was said, he was the one who slew my parents, the rulers of Tsinia (the Ganties.)

I didn’t know these Tsinians and yet their govern committee decided that an alliance between the two lands, Senx and Tsinia would create peace and I was supposed to be the cement. So stubborn me refused their plans and to meet with Darthorn and my decision caused death and destruction. Knowing what I do, If I could have gone back, I would have done things a lot differently.

Fantasy vs Sci-fi – friends chat

Wesley Britton is an author of the Beta Earth Chronicles and short story collection in sub-genres. He’s also been my client for many years now. As Wesley is blind he relies on me to handle most of his business to do with his books. I take care of his monthly newsletter, I’m his PA, VA, graphic designer, social media manager. I handle the marketing and promotion, I narrate, I’ve done book trailers and the list goes, on.
Wesley emails me at least 3 times or more every day, (even on my weekends off) and we talk on the phone 1/2 times a month, more if needed. So we know each other and the books we both write, very well.
