UNDENIABLE the hot new release from Victoria Saccenti

Blurb

Their hearts will never forget… But the approaching danger may take away their forever.

Possessing vital information that could bring down a crime cartel, Arely Bernal flees to Orlando, taking a job as far under the radar as she can get—bartending at a BDSM club. Where she encounters the man she’s never forgotten.

Wracked with post-Afghanistan PTSD, Kurt Allendorf limps through his days, barely taking an interest in his Club Nexus anymore. Until he’s stunned to spot a face, he hasn’t seen in twelve years. Arely has grown into a seductive beauty who awakens his inner Dom like no other woman, ever. But he’s too broken to be worthy of her trust, much less her submission.

When the danger Arely’s running from tracks her down, there’s no place safe to hide. And both Arely and Kurt will have to rise above their demons to survive…

Stand-alone strictly 18+

Excerpt

Kurt planned to arrive at the club fifteen minutes after the trial began. He wanted to slink into the cocktail lounge as unseen and unheard as possible. It was crucial to watch the applicant’s behavior from a distance. He had nothing against women working jobs usually associated with men. He was all about equality and qualifications. If she knew her stuff and Ross approved her abilities, great. His suspicions rested elsewhere. The faint flash of vulnerability Ethan had showed last night was concerning. He hadn’t been this way since the debacle with Joyce; a predator with a great act. Before the wedding, Ethan discovered she was after his money. After that he closed himself off to anything meaningful. Missing the initial interview pissed Kurt off. That would’ve been the perfect opportunity to assess the woman’s intentions and nip any ulterior motives in the bud. But no, he’d been socializing instead.

Whatever, he still had enough time to remedy the situation. The position hadn’t been offered yet. Pete wasn’t around, and that avoided undesired conversation. He slipped inside the lounge, grateful for the rubber soles of his shoes, moved to a back table, and sat down to watch the activity in the bar.

The trial was underway.

Perched on a stool, Ethan had his back turned to Kurt. His friend was focused on the applicant and few words were spoken. Kurt couldn’t see the woman working in front of Ethan. He did hear ice and liquid jiggling quickly inside a metal shaker.

“Delicious.” Ethan’s remark reached him.

The woman shifted to the side…

Kurt’s world imploded.

Not caring if he made a racket, he jumped out of his chair.  Arely Bernal was here, now, and in his club. How could this be?

Ethan swiveled toward him and frowned. Ross stared at him.

Arely mouthed, Kurt.

Suddenly aware of his stiff knee and awkward gait, he leaned on his cane, attempting to move as nimbly as he could. He had to confirm this wasn’t a figment of his imagination, an uncanny lookalike, or a cruel joke from the creator above.

“Kurt, what’s wrong?” Ethan asked.

He ignored his friend. His gaze was fixed on the girl’s golden eyes as he took in her stunning beauty. After a frozen moment, he managed to speak. “Arely?”

She blinked; her full lips trembled, and the room tilted. Recognition struck him deep in his chest. Except for some tiny lines at the corners of her eyes, this was the Arely Bernal of College Park and his youth.

His youth…

Kurt frowned. Circumstances and events clicked in rapid succession. A strange pattern emerged. Could Arely’s presence here be more than chance? Especially on the heels of Abelard’s visit? He didn’t believe in coincidences. The connection, however buried, vibrated in his bones.

On the other hand, the Arely he knew would never be part of an evil conspiracy. She’d always been good and honest. A feisty straight shooter who hated violence. Had been, he reminded himself, and long years had passed since. He’d witnessed the most upstanding individuals falter under the weight of hard times. What did he know about Arely and her life?

Something darker, even nefarious, lurked at the bottom of this seemingly innocent development. Until he had a long conversation with her, he’d keep his suspicions private.

“Kurt, you’re staring.” Ethan snapped him back.

Arely’s expressive eyes had gone from surprise and delight to doubt and concern. She knew him too.

He forced a smile. “I think I left my manners in the truck. I’m shocked. Stunned, really. Arely and I used to be neighbors. We actually lived two houses apart. I’ve known her since she was yay high.” He stretched out his palm, illustrating the height of the cute girl he remembered. “Her brother was one my best buds.”

He let that bit of history slip out for Ethan’s enlightenment. His eyelids flickered. Good. His friend noted the odd coincidence.

“Wow, Arely. I can’t believe it,” Kurt murmured. “You’re here. How long has it been?”

“Twelve years, Kurt. I thought I’d never see you again.”

Why did he pretend forgetfulness when he knew down to the day how many years had passed? In that span of time, her voice had turned smoky, seductive. And… Did he hear a hint of reproach in her words?

“Should anyone be interested,” Ross cut in, “Arely passed with flying colors. Her Bobby Burns and cosmo were outstanding. I approve. Hire her.”

“Okay,” Ethan said. “Since Kurt is here, he should be involved in the decision. Maybe he’d like to ask Arely a few questions.”

Ethan moved to a club chair and gestured for the others to join him.

As Arely came around the bar, Kurt watched her, overwhelmed by the changes. She’d grown about half a foot or so and had developed into a gorgeous, long-legged creature.

Slow down. This is little Arely! His brain commanded, but faced with the reality, his libido rebelled. Yes, the little girl was gone. A glorious woman stood in her place. Her golden eyes glittered brighter than he remembered, and his fingers shook with the desire to caress and explore her luscious curves. Was her dark hair as silky as it seemed? And her tan skin, was it soft and perfumed? He wanted to know just like he wanted to taste her, feel her full lips under his…

Fuck! He wondered what had happened to the tedium and general disinterest with everything in life that had sent him to Key West.

Bio

Award-winning, prolific author Victoria Saccenti writes romantic women’s fiction, contemporary romance, and paranormal romance. Not one for heart and flower stories, she explores the strengths and weaknesses of the human spirit and the twists and turns of intimate interactions. Impossible, against-all-the-odds love is her preferred trope. Flawed characters seeking redemption are her central figures.

After thirty years of traveling the world, she’s settled in Central Florida. She splits her busy schedule between family and her active muse at Essence Publishing. However, if she could convince her husband to sell their home, she would pack up her computer and move to Scotland, a land she adores. On a side note, in one form or another, she mentions Scotland in most of her stories.

Day 23 #MarchoftheWriter

 Fav place to read?

I suffer from chronic insomnia. I’m lucky if I get 2/3 hours sleep a night/morn.

I finally switch off and take off my work hat in the early hours of the morning. Then the rest of the time, until I close my eyes, or not is spent reading.
My second pastime, and if you’ve been following my blogs, you know what and where I do my reading.
When I’m in the car when I’m out for coffee (rarely.) I’m not being unsociable and playing games or posting on social media or taking selfies – No, I’m reading.

Any chance I get to have a break from work, I read. Yep, I even take my phone to the toilet. It’s my little 5 min break before I go back to the computer to continue promoting my clients and their books.

I love reading nearly as much as I love writing. Both allow you to escape reality and step into a new world the author has built. Get lost in the dream-like state, get involved in the conflicts and either feel let down or satisfied with the conclusion.

There’s nothing better, after a hard day’s work, to curl up snuggled with a book.

Day 10 #MarchoftheWriters

What’s on your calendar?

I have to check my diary for that. I’m useless on an online calendar, I always forget to put the date or event in.

Okay, so I have a zoom meeting with my co-author at 10.30 UK time tomorrow, as we start looking at the edits suggestions and notes for book one of our sci-fi, dystopian, Toxic. (Well, is actually today as it’s currently 3am as I write this post.

My BFF is getting married on the 19th of this month and I couldn’t get over there for the wedding, Sent a frigging awesome wedding present for them both. I’ll post a picture of the gift after the wedding.

I have been asked to be a guest on a pilot online game show so that’s gonna be cool. I’m also on the panel of the Go Indie Now show Sunday 27th March.

In between those dates, I have two Behind The Pen interviews to film and my radio show, which goes out live tomorrow at 1pm EST.

#MarchOfTheWriters

Day Two

Show and tell your books.

Agh… my favourite pastime. Where to begin. At the start, where else!

The first book I had published was In Times of Violence YA edition (currently working on the adult edition)

1) In Times of Violence started as an 18 A4 page typed
(yes, I said typed) story.

2) S.E.Hinton and her book, The Outsiders, was the reason I wrote ITOV.

3) A woman was reading the book by a pool and was so caught in the story, she didn’t see or hear her boyfriend calling to her as he got cramp, and was going under. Oops.

Then came Huntress Dark MC romance 18+ due to explicit scenes and graphic violence.

  1. I had no plans to write a sequel to ITOV, but the fans demanded it, and you have to give them what they want.
  2. Readers have said Huntress is like reading a script from, the SOA TV series, created and written by Kurt Sutter. Who has a warped mind and awesome acting abilities. (My book was out way before their MS hit the table.)

After two male-oriented MC novels, I wanted the women to have their turn. Book three is a vigilante thriller MC novel called Lawless Justice.

  1. I got the idea for this bad ass biker MC, from the film Death Proof, staring Kurt Russel and written and directed by Quentin Tarantino.
  2. There is a message in the front of the book, to the awesome actor, film critiqe and oscar winning director, Quentin Tarantino.
  3. Lawless Justice is the book that the fans want to see turned into a movie! Guess who I would have as my director? ….. Yep, you got it. Quentin Taratnino. ( Are you seeing a pattern here?)

The last book in the series is Road Rage it’s a stand-alone read. 18+ because of the graphic violent scenes and the explicit sexual scenes.

  1. One of the smaller characters in Lawless Justice is the main character in Road Rage. I needed to tell her story.
  2. Road Rage is the second most popular book in my collection.
  3. It was the film Biker Boyz, that inspire me to write the storyline about another MC. The clean-cut public superbike racing team, Rage.

Moving on- this was my first (and won’t be the last) Dark Mafia Romance, Broken Chains. I enjoyed writing this book so much, and I had loads of fun with it. 18+ due to explicit content and graphic violence.

  1. Broken Chains became my number one bestseller.
  2. Broken Chains won the Top Pick Award from Author Shout and was nominated in the top indie books of 2021 by Joe Compton, owner of the indie media platform, Go Indie Now.
  3. Broken Chains book trailer which I created, won an award at an International Film Festival for Best Female Director for thriller short.

Moving on to my collections. Heads & Tales is a collection of flash fiction in a mixture of fiction genres.

  1. Head and Tales was inspired by the song titles of Iron Maiden’s album Best of the Beast.

    2) At least 18 of these 28 flash fiction stories, were previously published in magazines and newspapers.

    3) I won a t-shirt from a magazine for my horror story Crossed for being so bad and cliche, then the following month the same short story won first prize in an international horror short story contest. ( oh, yeah, I made sure the magazine knew about that win.)

Undressed, is my second collection, It has poetry, prose, short fiction and writing prompts.

  1. I held a cover contest. This cover was painted ( I have the original), it was everything I was looking for.
  2. Amazon ( groan) continues to keep putting Undressed in the erotica categories when there is no mention of sex in the book.
  3. I had many of the poems in the book, originally published in magazines and ezines.

On to my YA fantasy romance, duology, Illusional Reality. Book one.

  1. The first book Illusional Reality was inspired by The Fellowship of the Ring from LOTR.
  2. Illusional Reality has the most reviews, out of all my books and has won three awards so far.
  3. Although, fantasy, there is no stereotype characters. There are no elves, dwarfs, wizards, goblins, trolls, etc and yet Illusional Reality is full of new characters and lots of magic.
  4. There is an audiobook out for Book 1 of Illsuonal Reality.

Book two of the duology, The Quest

  1. The duology is a duology in itself. The main character has two sides to her in each book.
  2. The second book is inspired by The Two Towers, LOTR
  3. No, there’s no third book like there was in LOTR
  4. A publisher contacted me and asked if I would like to sign up with them.
  5. The Illusional Reality has a colouring book out as well.

Stone Cold is a YA supernatural thriller.

  1. Stone Cold is the most biographical book out of all my stories.
  2. I did more research for this book than any of my other books.
  3. The book is based in Scotland even though my experiences happen in Wales.
  4. There is an audiobook for Stone Cold
  5. The book trailer for Stone Cold has won 3 International Film Festivals awards. ( you can check the trailers up on the main menu bar)

Toxic is a sci-fi dystopian erotica (yes I like making up my own genres.)

  1. Toxic is a collaboration with another author, Karen J Mossman. We got together on camera and spent 2 hours plotting, scheming and coming up with a fascinating dystopian world.

    2) There are two versions of the same book, one naughty (mine) and one nice (Karen’s)

    3) Toxic will soon be removed and republished with a new cover and a publisher. They have taken on all the books and are keeping the naughty and nice theme.

    4) Toxic is a trilogy. The first draft of book 2 is ready and we’ll be working on book 3 later this year.

A Flash of Horror – A collection of flash fiction from the horror genre. (in case that wasn’t obvious)

  1. A Flash of Horror is flash fiction taken from Heads & Tales, Undressed and a couple of original flash, that I wrote for the collection.
  2. The paperback version of the book is pocket sized. Yes, you can actualy keep it in your handbag, or pocket.

The other two fiction books are In Times of Violence, adult edition (to go with the original OUTLAW series.)
And the box set of Illusional Reality.

And that’s not all. I’ve been working on a small project with my youngest daughter. Take a look.

Available as a paperback and on Kindle Unlimited

The Killer on the Heath is the first of a forthcoming trilogy.

Meet Cassie, the main protagonist in a character interview on the blog of J. M. Northup

He could be anywhere, I realised. He might be striding down this very street, seemingly normal. That’s what made him even more dangerous. He could be choosing another victim from the crowd while everyone else just thought him to be a regular guy. They wouldn’t know what he’s done, or the life he’s taken for his own gratification.’

I considered how and why people could be so cruel to each other. When I’d asked Seb, he’d said, “Not everyone’s wired the same. Some people think what they’re doing is okay.”“How is that possible?” I’d asked him.

“Take Plinth,” he continued, “being brought up by parents who didn’t give a damn and mistreated him set the stage for the man he’d become. He didn’t have a proper standard to compare to, and the power he enjoyed only reaffirmed his beliefs.”

“You can stop that right now!” A shrill voice crashed into us, throwing us apart guiltily. His mother stood in the doorway, disapproval written all over her face. For a fraction of a second, her eyes lingered on my chest where my nipple stood erect. Once more she had caught me in a compromising position. I felt like a child being found doing something I shouldn’t. What is it with this woman? Couldn’t she have waited until we returned?!

‘The original short story was born in 2018. I liked it, and wrote another and another. I soon had a collection of short stories.’

The Killer on the Heath is published by Norns Triad Publications and was introduced to the world in September.

Watch and listen to the author read an exciting excerpt from her book.

Bringing History To Life!

Elliott Mason debut novel was The Arlington Order, which takes two major events in history in the Civil War era, orders for the assassination attempt on Confederate President Jefferson Davis, and the mystery of the gold treasure that vanished without a trace. Moving on 150 years later two historians stumble on clues. (no spoilers)

His second book is an exciting thriller adventure, but you’ll have to watch this episode of Behind The Pen, where I chat with Elliot to find out more about it.

BIO

Elliot Mason grew up in Southern California. He graduated from USC in 1989 with a bachelor’s degree in history, and went on to complete his master’s degree at Azusa Pacific University.

For many years, he was a featured and contributing writer for several websites, blogs and trade magazines. In late 2019, his first suspense thriller, “The Arlington Orders”, was released to much critical acclaim. Featured on radio interviews, podcasts and television shows, Mason’s work struck a chord with the public as it touched upon many of today’s hot button topics, making him one of the most in demand new authors.

His eagerly anticipated follow-up novel, “The Legal Killer”, was released in the spring of 2021. It’s controversial subject matter has already created a buzz among fans and critics alike, and will certainly be one of the year’s most talked about suspense-thrillers. In addition, he has two more novels in the works due for release in 2022 and 2023.

Mr. Mason still resides in California and is currently active in writer’s workshops, book readings and signings and other appearances.

A fluffy ( cupcake) fairytale)

51A2giE9d-L
Gertrude wants to be the best baker and pastry chef in the city so she makes a deal with Mona the witch: one spell in exchange for her first-born child. The problem is, Gertrude doesn’t have a husband. Or a boyfriend. Or much interest in dating at all.

As the overly dramatic Mona occasionally stops by the flourishing bakery to see about Gertrude keeping up her end of the bargain, both women begin to realize that maybe the deal isn’t what will bring them true happiness. Soon, something more than friendship begins to blossom.

When tragedy strikes, Gertrude finds that she may lose the only family she has left. Is Mona a powerful enough witch to save the city from impending war and help the girl she is falling for? Can she let go of her regrets so she can move on to find her happily ever after?

“Once Upon a Pastry is a delightfully unique fairy tale for adults. This fun – and sometimes funny – the story begins with cupcakes and gets unexpectedly serious for a while. Though I would’ve enjoyed reading more details about the characters, especially Aunt Rhiann, the way it was written was engaging and the story flowed well. I will definitely read more from this author. Her voice is as unique as the story itself.”

Another author that’s not afraid to mix it up using a fairytale genre in modern times with a modern love story that doesn’t entail the usual MF dynamic.

Excerpt

A gentle swinging motion soothed me. Strong arms holding my body reassured me. I slipped out of unconscious darkness, and the familiar surroundings of my bedroom comforted me. I glanced up, and the handsome face studying me with such a loving expression was the man in my dreams.

Somehow, I’d been transported from the site where a deadly battle took place to my fantasy place. The space where my imagination was released and my deepest, most intimate feelings were explored without shyness or shame. In this plane, my beautiful man and I joined and loved until daylight broke the spell.

“Do you hurt, älskling?”

He speaks, I marveled in my daze.

My dreams were full of feverish caresses, wild kisses, passionate tumbles, daring erotic positions, but we never exchanged a word. Rather, we intuited our desires, shared thoughts in our minds. His voice was deep, musical, and…familiar.

“I do not hurt. Not with you.” I touched his cheekbone, then ran my finger to the crease of his full lips. His eyes gleamed with pleasure.

With great care, he deposited me on the bed. A blue-black lock fell over his forehead. I had a fleeting moment of recognition, a detail I should remember. I hung on to it…then let it go.

“This was my fault.” He scowled.

“No. How?”

“I chased a fake trail. They’ll never fool me again.” The mattress shifted under his weight as he sat next to me. He engulfed my hand between his. “You were so brave.”

“I was not. I couldn’t push him away.”

“Not in your present state.” He kissed my fingertips, and I thought I would melt. “Regardless, you fought him. Soon you’ll have the power, and you’ll be unconquerable.”

Hmmm. Power? Present state? Unconquerable?

Whatever. I only wanted one thing. Him.

“Kiss me. Kiss me, please.”

More to come…..

Author Bio

Multi-genre author Victoria Saccenti picked up pencil and paper when her childhood book heroes started conversing with her. Sounds a little crazy, but there’s no rhyme or reason for inspiration. Back then, she wrote one-act plays and fairy tales for simple amusement. Today—many…many moons later—her playful stories have grown into romantic women’s fiction, paranormal, and contemporary romances with a sharp edge.

In 2018, her novel “Destiny’s Choice” book two of the “Destiny Series” hit the Amazon Best Selling list. In 2019, “Noémie’s Journey,” an interracial romance set in 1968 North Carolina, received the prestigious B.R.A.G. Medallion Honoree badge and won Readers’ Favorite silver medal,

Central Florida is home. She splits her busy schedule between family and her active muse at Essence Publishing. But if she could convince her husband to sell their home, she would pack up her computer and move to Scotland, a land she adores.

“Deception”, a dark erotic romance is her current work in progress, and Beloved Titanian a paranormal romance will be released soon.

 Why I wrote this book?

The Titanians story line—a unique race descendant of the doomed Titans and other magical creatures— came to me about five years ago. Back then, I couldn’t pursue the inspiration because I was heavily involved in the Destiny Series and Noémie’s Journey.

I’ve always been a lover of Greek myth, especially after my father lent me his leather-bound tome of ancient stories and myths. The first generation of gods, the Titans and Prometheus, the most prominent figure in the second generation, struck a chord with me. Most folks are familiar with the younger Olympians. They’ve received all the glory, accolades, and fame. The Titans, however, after losing the Titanomachy, the ten-year war against the Olympians, fell into obscurity. Rarely, anyone talks or writes about them. Now that my projects are completed, I can rectify that injustice (insert a big grin) and freely explore the Titanian race.
